We start with product groups, variants and information buyers need, such as dimensions, materials, images and delivery details. Categories and filters should support that choice. A small collection needs different features from a large catalogue.
We agree who maintains products, prices and availability. Existing data can be a starting point, but imports need checks for completeness and consistency. Every future extension does not need to be part of the first release.
Payments and dependable order states
The basket and checkout are designed around mobile use and necessary information. Payment methods depend on the provider, account and integration. Mollie or Stripe may be suitable; availability is checked beforehand.
We define when an order is paid, cancelled or ready for fulfilment. Returning to the site alone is not confirmation of payment. Duplicate notifications, failed payments and confirmation emails are included in test scenarios.
Inventory and accounting integrations
If you already use inventory, accounting or shipping software, we investigate its APIs and exports. We identify which system controls stock and how changes are exchanged. Synchronisation can be immediate or scheduled according to the workflow.
We define the data exchanged and outage behaviour. Integrations depend on vendors, access and licences. The proposal records the connections to build and who maintains them afterwards.
Custom development or an existing shop platform?
Catalogue, management, budget and integrations guide the choice. Standard software can work well when its features fit. Custom development may suit unusual product choices, quotation processes or business-software connections.
For a replacement, we map product URLs, images, order data and customer accounts where relevant. Migration and redirects have their own place in the plan. Search positions and revenue after migration are not guaranteed.
Costs, preparation and delivery
Design, catalogue structure, checkout, administration, migration and integrations affect cost. A shop with manual stock management needs different work from a multi-channel store. You receive a scope-based proposal, distinguishing payment fees, hosting and licences.
Preparation includes product data, images and shipping arrangements. You review the shop in a test environment. We check agreed order and payment flows with test data before launch, then discuss account handover, updates, backups and support.
